This is Thin Privilege

Scroll to Info & Navigation

A thin privileged mindset is not believing that someone who is fat could have a stalker.

I have been stalked by a man for almost two weeks. I am filled with fear and am constantly looking over my shoulder but my experiences with this man (him not taking no for an answer and continuing to ask me out, showing up “out of the blue” at the grocery store where I work and getting into my line, him showing up at my house with unwanted flowers asking for a kiss, leaving me letters) are laughed at.

I am told that my experiences aren’t real, that I’m making things up, that I’m a liar - simply because I’m fat.

While this is true and I TOTALLY agree that “thin privilege” is not the right way to phrase it, this lady seems upset...
