This is Thin Privilege

Scroll to Info & Navigation

Thin Privilege is the assumption that studies claiming your body is healthy aren’t biased.

I’m tired of almost every time I try to educate anti-obesity crusaders about fat acceptance with studies, they respond with “But those studies are biased!” then when I point out that the mainstream studies have huge biases behind them, such as being funded by diet companies and big pharma, they claim I’m creating a “conspiracy theory”. Thin privilege is the assumption that your body is healthy, and that all studies saying so must be correct 100%.

Mod note: Also intersects with able-bodied privilege. -ATL
