I am seriously upset right now. My half sister is 9 years old and weighs about 113 lbs, she’s tall but I can’t remember her height right now. She’s active and eat healthy. We rarely even have soda or sweets in the house. And yet she gets teased because she’s “fat”. A 9 year shouldn’t be concerned about “obesity” or diabetes. A 9 year old should be doing what she does; run around the backyard with the dogs.

Her doctors keep warning her mother about juvenile diabetes, even though she shows NO signs of diabetes at all.

  2. kliapatra said: My doctors put me on a diet at 8 or 9 and scared me into thinking I was -going- to get diabetes. We never followed through with it. It’s been 14 years and my health is no worse than it was then.
  3. agreekdoctor said: Juvenile diabetes can be congenital, but it doesn’t have to be. And at any rate, it’s usually not connected to weight.
  4. alanaisreading said: Juvenile diabetes isn’t even connected to weight, sugar or anything like that! It’s congenital. Her doctors are idiots.
