I’d had a stressful day yesterday, and posted to my Facebook about wanting chocolate. One of my “friends” replied with “Don’t eat the chocolate! Defeats the purpose of exercising. Hang in there and keep at it. Use your will power to avoid stress eating. Distract yourself by doing something different (cleaning, shower, get the mail, read,etc)”
The more I thought about it, the more her “advice” sounded like the “ways to avoid self-harm” lists I’ve seen around Tumblr.
So to her, I guess, thin privilege is equating a fat girl having a little chocolate after a stressful day with self-harming practices.
