This is Thin Privilege

Scroll to Info & Navigation

Thin privilege is hearing your 5-year-old niece say that eating too much cake makes you fat.

Thin privilege is hearing her follow up with, “I don’t want to be fat because being fat is bad.”

Thin privilege is that sinking, ill feeling when you realize this child you love has already learned to discriminate.

Thin privilege is her not even realizing just how much she hurt me - her fat aunt.
