This is Thin Privilege

Scroll to Info & Navigation

Thin privilege is never being told by your father that you should make working out your full time job the summer before you graduate from college. Because no one wants to hire a fat girl. It’s never being told by your mother that the wonderful internship offer that would give you mountains of experience isn’t a good idea because it takes up too much time and you won’t be able to hire a trainer and work out all day every day. It means never being told that you’ll never find love, you’ll never have a career, you’ll never go anywhere in life. It means that other people believe you when you say you have the power to determine your own future, and that you’re going to be happy, regardless of the number on the scale.
